BREAKING: Melbourne will remain in stage four lockdown for at least a further two weeks, Premier Daniel Andrews has announced. The extension will come into effect at 11.59pm on September 13 and will remain in place until September 28. 9News More:

A total of 152 people on Russell Island off the coast of Brisbane were tested for COVID-19 yesterday after a woman who lives there tested positive yesterday.

"Given the population Russell Island is about 5000, that is a very good, swift response from the community there and we thank them for that," Deputy Premier Steven Miles said. Yesterday's positive case was a woman, aged in her 60s, who travelled to and from Russell Island via ferry multiple times while potentially infectious.

A fever clinic was immediate set up on the island and residents are being put on high alert and urged to get tested if they develop even the mildest of symptoms.
