Rapper, producer and fashion icon asvpxrocky has launched a whiskey brand.
If the word multihyphenate had a face next to it in the dictionary, we wouldn’t be surprised to find A$AP Rocky there. The rapper, producer, fashion icon, model, and actor is no stranger to doing it all, with a reputation as a man of many talents. And today, he’s adding one more ticked box to his resume: Rocky is getting into the spirits game by launching his own new crafted whiskey brand, titled Mercer + Prince.
Rocky’s whiskey, which retails for $29.99, was created in partnership with Global Brand Equities and E & J Gallo. As a big fan of darker spirits like cognac, Rocky says he has always been intrigued by the idea of making his own whiskey—and by launching it now, he saw an opportunity to disrupt its typical production process. “This is the only category of spirits that would allow us to have a contemporary approach,” says Rocky.
Rocky also wanted to innovate when it came to conceiving the bottle’s unique design, which features two built-in cups on either end. “I used my fashion eye when it came to the cosmetic and technical design of the bottle,” he says. “I first drew the design on a napkin.” It’s meant to be a statement piece for your bar car, he explains, but it’s also meant to encourage the idea of sharing. “It’s a social bottle,” says Rocky. “It’s quick for sharing.
After all, as Rocky explains, it’s the art of collaboration that keeps his creative mind constantly whirring. “I love collaborating,” he says. “You get to adopt different traits and specialties to make a perfect project.” We can all raise a glass to that.Sign Up Now
