One of the two people killed by a knifeman during an attack at London Bridge is named as 25-year-old Jack Merritt.
Several members of the public stepped in to stop the London Bridge attacker, including one person armed with a narwhal tusk from the nearby Fishmongers' Hall and another who was seen walking away with a knife.Mr Merritt was a graduate of Cambridge University and the course coordinator for its Institute for Criminology's Learning Together program, focused on rehabilitation for prisoners.

Serena Wright, a lecturer in criminology at Royal Holloway University, wrote that she knew Mr Merritt through Learning Together and"loved him to pieces". "He was the sweetest, most caring and selfless individual I've ever met. The warmest heart, always with time for anyone," she wrote.Oliver Kirk, a London based criminal barrister, tweeted that he had seen Mr Merritt speak at a lecture several weeks prior to his death.
