Olga Faizyeva, a lawyer for an international investment company, emailed her company’s clients to ask if they would contribute to the Ukrainian war effort. Many did, Faizyeva said, speaking at the nondescript block of Soviet-era flats where she has sought refuge from the fighting with her parents.
