Fashion magazines, perfumes and skincare aren’t the first things you’d normally associate with motorsport, but welcome to the new world of the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix, increasingly designed to appeal to women and families.
Formula 1 fan and podcast host Eleanor Baillieu wears Cappellazo Couture in the Marriott Bonvoy lounge.Now Baillieu, a guest at this year’s event, notes more women and families are attending each year – and the statistics back this up. Celebrity hairdresser Joey Scandizzo will tend to the tresses of Marriott Bonvoy’s VIP clientele in a pop-up salon, replicating services offered during the spring racing carnival.In a satellite event, Ritz-Carlton Melbourne is partnering with Vogue and GQ hosting an invite-only grand prix party on Thursday, while Ralph Lauren Fragrance, a big tennis sponsor, will launch its ambassadors including boxer Harry Garside and basketballer Isaac Humphries at The Commons Collective on Tuesday.
