The pitch invasion during an A-League Melbourne derby in December has been described as “the worst witnessed in Australian football” by Football Australia CEO James Johnson.

“We cannot let this happen again in our game,” Mr Johnson told reporters at a media conference on Tuesday.The A-League has implemented a suspended 10-point deduction for future supporter misconduct.

This sanction will come into effect for the remainder of the 2022/23 season and is to remain until the conclusion of the 2025/26 season.
