After fan backlash last season, the APL has reversed a decision to host the A-Leagues' grand finals in Sydney, instead replacing it with its own Magic Round.
Key points:The decision comes after extensive consultation with fans following protests and a pitch invasion last year
The APL will also help co-ordinate a series of grassroots competitions and activities for children and young footballers in the area, while a live site will be established at Moore Park for fans to watch both the A-Leagues and the Socceroos' Asian Cup clash against India on Saturday, January 13. "Many of the resulting conversations have included the hosting of the grand finals, and the strong sentiments around that, and we thank DNSW and Premier Minns for their partnership in creating a truly inclusive experience for our game.
Games will take place between the Sydney Football Stadium, Parramatta Stadium and Leichhardt Oval, while the grassroots tournaments and events will take place at other venues across Sydney.
