Rabbitohs hooker Damien Cook says his first NSW Cup game in eight years was ‘good fun’ after his surprise axing from first-grade by embattled coach Jason Demetriou.
“Hopefully I’ve done enough to try and push back into the first-grade squad too,” he added, saying that he expects to talk to coach Jason Demetriou today about his prospects of an NRL return when they face the Storm on Anzac Day in Melbourne.“The week, especially the start of the week, there was a obviously lot of tension about it – quite draining by the time I got to game day, just how the week played out.
“There was a lot of motivation there just to make sure I didn’t let those guys down, that’s what they play for week-in, week-out – their footy.
