Perth Festival's four-year strategy puts artists at the centre — and it has not only raised the bar for access and inclusion, but is bearing fruit at the box office.
Morwenna Collett, an access and inclusion advocate , has long been a supporter of the Perth Festival.She says the impact of the initiative has been threefold; on artists with disability, on the Perth Festival itself and on the arts sector more broadly.She emphasises the importance of workshops led by key Festival artists with disability and attended by artists from around Australia.
Bowditch concurs, and says:"There are few opportunities for disabled artists in this country to learn from each other; to have that peer leadership is really rare."
