Thank you LouisVuitton for the BEAUTY!
Louis Vuitton started out selling trunks and luggage for travelers in the late 19th century. With travel at the heart of the company, it only makes sense that creative director Nicolas Ghesquiere gets to explore his penchant for time travel through his collections. He likes to reference looks from different time periods while still adhering to his futuristic sensibility.
For Spring 2020, he cites the golden age of the Belle Epoque and Art Nouveau as his starting points, a period coinciding with the launch of the French luxury brand. Plenty of late '60s and early '70s elements are also thrown in for good measure. This results in a few literal details like billowy bishop sleeves and Gibson Girls hairdos, as well as whimsical moments like a VHS cassette tape bag that's sure to fly off the shelves.
