Sunny today in North Texas before rain returns Friday

The forecast high for Tuesday was 98° with sunny skies and temperatures in the upper 90s expected for the rest of the week. Sunny and mild weather is in store for North Texas today. Afternoon temperatures will top out in the 70s today.
Widespread showers and a few thunderstorms are expected for much of the day Friday. Severe weather is not expected. Rain totals could exceed an inch in some spots. The high temperature Friday will only be in the 50s. The wet and chilly weather could stretch into Friday night, so plan accordingly. For the weekend, there’s a low chance of light rain early Saturday. Otherwise, the weekend looks mostly dry. It will remain cool on Saturday with a high in the 60s. Sunday’s high will be in the 70s. Right now Halloween is looking mild and dry.
