A third of the world could face recession in 2023

The International Monetary Fund has warned up to a third of the world could face a recession this year.

It comes as rising inflation, the war on Ukraine and China’s relaxation of its zero-COVID policy helped slow down the world’s three biggest economies.

The IMF’s managing director expects China to have a difficult start to the year as it reopens to the world.
