South Sydney superstar Latrell Mitchell visited NRL CEO Andrew Abdo at his Rugby League Central office in Moore Park on Wednesday night.
NRL chief executive Andrew Abdo has held a meeting with South Sydney fullback Latrell Mitchell following a fortnight of drama surrounding one of the game’s most high-profile stars.
It comes a fortnight after Mitchell found himself under fire for suggesting Spencer Leniu should receive more than a 12-week ban for calling fellow Indigenous player Ezra Mam a “monkey” during the Roosters-Broncos clash in Las Vegas on March 3.Latrell Mitchell is interviewed by Triple M after the Rabbitohs’ defeat in Brisbane.“It was a tough and honest conversation.
“We expect our players to set a good example and clearly using bad language is an example of what we don’t want our players to do,” Abdo said.“But we all make mistakes, and I think we have to take things in context from time to time, there’ll be things said that players regret.
