The Bureau of Meteorology says there is a chance a tropical cyclone could develop in the Top End after Christmas but says 'there is a fair bit of uncertainty' as to how a likely tropical low may unfold.
The Bureau of Meteorology has tipped a cloudy, wet Christmas around the Top End, with a potential monsoon trough developing in northern seas that has a chance to intensify into a tropical cyclone.The BOM is forecasting showers and storms across the northern Top End over ChristmasBureau of Meteorology senior forecaster Moses Raico said the bureau was monitoring a monsoon trough likely to build over the Arafura, Timor and Banda seas in coming days.
“But, if it doesn’t have that much time over water, and it might move over parts of the north-western Top End.
