Indie production company A24 this week releases their highest-rated horror movie ever (according to review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes).
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT A24 this week releases Talk to Me, which Rotten Tomatoes lists as the company’s highest-rated horror movie ever. Last year’s Oscar-winning smash Everything Everywhere All At Once may have vaulted the independent production house to a higher level than ever, but even before that movie became a phenomenon, A24 had already established itself as a brand name in world of indie film.
That roster of A24 horror films is indeed impressive, but according to Rotten Tomatoes, the company’s latest release Talk To Me tops them all. Set to open wide on July 28, the Australian supernatural horror film currently sits at 97% on the review aggregator, ranking it above such titles as X, Saint Maud and Pearl. That rating even ranks it above the non-horror Everything Everywhere All At Once, which currently sits at 94%.
A24 Has A Rich History Of Horror Releases The acclaimed Talk To Me falls firmly in the supernatural horror sub-genre, with its story about a group of friends who discover an embalmed hand, and unwittingly unleash demonic forces. The next-highest-rated A24 horror film, 2022’s Mia Goth-led X , is much more in the way of a slasher, as is its 2022 sequel Pearl .
2018 saw the release of another hugely important and acclaimed A24 horror film, Ari Aster’s Hereditary , a movie that epitomizes the controversial concept of “elevated horror.” Also scoring high on Rotten Tomatoes is It Comes at Night , a mystery-thriller released by A24 in 2017.
