Man United were desperate to sign the midfielder as a 17-year-old back in 2008 before he eventually joined Arsenal.
Aaron Ramsey has opened up on the transfer tug of war between Arsenal and Manchester United for his signature back in 2008.
But United were not the only team eyeing the promising teenager, with Arsenal and Everton also interested. Ramsey had met officials from all three clubs before deciding to join the Gunners in a deal worth £4.8million.ALSO READ: Three radical selection changes Ten Hag could make to revitalise United "I was always a Cardiff supporter, but my dad was a Manchester United fan and I watched them quite a lot with him," Ramsey told FourFourTwo. "It was a strange time in my life, to have two teams I’d watched so much as a child showing interest in me.
"Arsenal felt like the right decision for me. I remember showing up to training on my first day and seeing Kolo Toure, Cesc Fabregas, Emmanuel Adebayor, William Gallas... I had to pinch myself. I was like, ‘What on Earth am I doing here?’ It was an exciting time for me."
