Former prime minister Tony Abbott has paid tribute to his “great friend” Shinzo Abe who had a deep understanding and awareness of the threat posed by the Chinese Communist Party.
Mr Abe was delivering a speech on the campaign trail in the city of Nara on Friday when a man fired a home-made weapon and struck the 67-year-old in the chest.
