Task force studying deadly Astroworld Festival calls for ‘clearly outlined triggers’ to stop a show

The investigation also revealed crucial decisions made during the planning of the event, including the venue layout, that experts said increased the likelihood something would go wrong and limited the ability of authorities to manage a crisis. The task force additionally highlighted the need for adequate training of security guards, though it did not recommend specific rules or guidelines. It also advised event promoters to team up with artists to encourage safe behavior, “since messaging from the artist can be uniquely persuasive for fans.”- continued to meet to review communication, protocols and permitting requirements locally.
