The former prime minister declared he has been 'impressed' by the 'courage' of Katherine Deves who is hoping to snatch the seat of Warringah currently held by independent Zali Steggall.
Ms Deves earlier this week appeared to walk back on her apology after she used the word"mutilated" to describe children going through transgender reassignment surgery.
"It's very emotive, it's very confronting and it's very ugly so of course people are going to be offended. But when you look at medical negligence cases, that is the terminology they use - it is also contained in the Crimes Act of NSW." "We’ve got to do this, to get behind her, for our community, for our party, for our country and to help give the Morrison government a victory our country needs," he said in the video.Mr Morrison hand-picked Ms Deves for the seat and backed his colleague when he was grilled this week about her choice of words regarding transgender children.
He claimed it is a"concerning issue" that Australians need to be"very sensitive" about when it comes to discussions on the topic.
