The ABC is under fire over accusations of more doctored audio relating to its coverage of Special Forces operations in the Afghanistan war.
Heston Russell accuses ABC of doctoring more footage from discredited 7:30 coverage of alleged Afghanistan war crimes
The 7:30 report from September 2022 on the actions of Australian Commandos in Afghanistan showed an eight second clip depicting a soldier firing six shots at an Afghan civilian, before looping the same piece of footage but with the audio of additional shots added on top.Former Special Forces Major Heston Russell and forensic audio expert James Raper claim the doctored audio misrepresents the footage and attempts to reinforce the public broadcaster’s “proven false narrative”.
