A former gangland figure, turned boxer, Abdulrahim finds himself at the center of a vicious feud, with his life under threat. A $1 million bounty has been placed on his head, leading to a wave of attacks targeting him, his family, and associates. They are forced to live in fear, constantly on the move to evade their enemies.

When a tradie arrived at a callout address in Fawkner early one Thursday morning in October, he was expecting a routine fence repair. Instead, he was targeted by gunfire as a masked man emerged from a stolen car parked nearby. A bullet shattered his lower leg, leaving the footpath soaked in blood. The 48-year-old man was just one victim in a string of attacks allegedly linked to the enemies of Abdulrahim, a 32-year-old former gangland figure turned boxer.

Abdulrahim has been living in hiding for the past six months, evading a $1 million murder contract placed on his head.He has been moving between Melbourne, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand, constantly on the run. Abdulrahim’s Instagram account is filled with misleading posts about his whereabouts, including one showing a photo supposedly from Lebanon with a message about feeling good to be in his motherland, while he was actually partying in a Melbourne bar. In September, he briefly appeared to be working as a bodyguard for Russian mixed martial arts star Khabib Nurmagomedov at an event in Kuala Lumpur. However, with Abdulrahim constantly disappearing and reappearing, those connected to him have become targets. Late last year, a relative of a close associate was held at gunpoint in their home and released only after a $150,000 ransom was paid. The demand was punishment for the associate’s continued support of Abdulrahim. This kidnapping was never reported to the police, according to underworld sources. Another associate, who regularly posts attacks against Abdulrahim’s enemies on social media, narrowly escaped injury or death in October. Two masked men were waiting to ambush him outside his home in broad daylight but were alerted by a suspicious passerby. It remains unclear if the ambush would have involved a beating, firebombing, or shooting. The men fled the scene before police arrived, abandoning a Mercedes AMG in their escape. The exact motives behind these attacks are complex and involve a web of past feuds. Abdulrahim’s enemies reportedly include a rival gang figure who allegedly placed a $1 million bounty on his head, his former bikie club – the Mongols – as well as high-ranking members of the Comancheros and a host of Middle Eastern organized crime figures. From 2017 onwards, Abdulrahim, his family, and associates have been the target of at least 18 separate shootings, firebombings, assaults, and other attacks. Sources say that Abdulrahim’s relatives and associates have become social pariahs due to these ongoing attacks, fearing that their proximity could endanger others or their businesses
