The Andrews Government has announced the Aboriginal flag will fly permanently on top of one of Victoria's main roads which connects the city of Melbourne and the western suburbs.

Picture: Tony Gough "The flying of the Aboriginal flag is another step in recognising and celebrating First Peoples and Traditional Owners as the custodians of the land and waters in Victoria."The state government is also trying to determine how to represent the Torres Strait and Victorian flag on the landmark.
Kelly Lehmann, chairperson of the Bunurong Land Council Aboriginal Corporation said the Aboriginal flag being on top of one of the main structures in Victoria represented"inclusiveness, recognition and respect".It comes after the NSW government announced last month it would erect the Aboriginal flag permanently onto the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
