Roman Abramovich faces questions over vow to donate cash from £3bn Chelsea sale
Roman Abramovich confirmed Chelsea is up for sale on Wednesday evening. Abramovich is seeking to distance himself from Russian President Vladimir Putin and sanctions imposed on the country following the invasion of Ukraine.
In his statement, the Russian billionaire confirmed 'all net proceeds from the sale will be donated' to victims of the war. UK security minister Damian Hinds said he did not know what Abramovich meant by 'net proceeds' before promising more sanctions. Abramovich has written off a £1.5bn debt but wants around £3bn for Chelsea
