ABS reveals what state 120,000 Aussies are moving away from

More than a hundred thousand Aussies are choosing to leave one major state, according to the latest data by the Australian Bureau of Statistics.

The state lost a total of 121,071 residents in the 12 months to December 31, leaving it with a net migration rate of negative 31,560.ranked Sydney the second least affordable city in the worldThe global report recorded Sydney’s median house price as $1.3 million, while the ABS recorded wages across the state averaged $94,000.

Queensland, Western Australia and South Australia, in contrast, saw a positive influx of new residents. NSW recorded the largest net overseas migrant population growth after it welcomed 134,602 new residents. The Albanese government in their budget in May forecasted net overseas migration across the country would rise by 1.5 million over the next five years.
