Animal Care Services criminally cited the owner for the dog running loose and for not getting the dog a legally required rabies vaccination.
Bailey barks and lunges aggressively at an unidentified pedestrian trying to walk down the sidewalk in the 2200 block of Bandera Road on April 27. The dog was later surrendered to Animal Care Services and euthanized. ACS officials issued criminal citations to Bailey's owner this week for the dog running loose and for not getting the dog a legally required rabies vaccination.
The victim, Arggie Ford, 38, was seriously injured and her baby died as a result of being struck by the hit-and-run driver in the 2200 block of Bandera Road on the night of April 22. Ford spent two weeks in University Hospital and several days in a physical rehabilitation center being treated for her injuries.
ACS officers determined the dog that threatened Ford lived at a nearby home in the 2200 block of Bandera Road. The dog, named Bailey, was surrendered to animal control officials and later euthanized. The dog’s owner, identified by ACS as Jaymee Parker, 23, was criminally cited for the dog running loose and for not getting the dog a legally required rabies vaccination. The citations were mailed to Parker’s home this week, ACS spokeswoman Lisa Norwood said.No one has been arrested for the hit-and-run crash that injured Ford. San Antonio police said Friday they are still actively investigating that incident.
