Teachers and healthcare workers in Canberra won’t be required to be vaccinated against COVID-19 from late next week after the ACT Government moved to lift its jab mandate.

Health Minister Rachel Stephen-Smith acknowledged the ACT leads the country with its COVID-19 vaccination rates as she announced the rule change on Tuesday.

"The ACT's nation-leading vaccination coverage and continued compliance with public health advice puts us in a great position to be able to tackle the winter season and the challenges this may bring," she said. Offer ends 31 October, 2022.More than 75 per cent of Canberrans aged 16 and over have already received their booster, while almost 81 per cent of ACT kids aged five to 11 have come forward for one vaccine dose."It's as the risk of outbreaks and severe illness among people they care for remains high," Ms Stephen-Smith said.◾ Aged 5-11 years : 65.
