The Australian Capital Territory has recorded 12 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours amid an outbreak of the highly contagious Delta strain.

Mr Barr said more than 7,800 negative COVID-19 tests had been processed in the past 24 hours and waiting lines were significantly lower.

On Friday the Gold Creek, Erindale and Weston Creek testing centres recorded limited wait times – a win for the Chief Minister who has been battling to reduce waiting times since the ACT lockdown started.Please note, children can be tested at Gold Creek, Erindale and Weston Creek.There are currently more than 20,000 people in quarantine across Canberra with ACT Police reporting high levels of compliance.

“Only 12 turnarounds and 12 cautions were issued, and the chief police officer advises they were mostly for people not wearing a mask.” He said the ACT vaccine rollout was being held back by limited supplies which he would discuss with the National Cabinet at their meeting on Friday afternoon.
