The SAG-AFTRA actors strike has an update where it has been revealed the strike may last until next year in 2024.
The Writers Guild of America and the Screen Actors Guild are on strike together for the first time since 1960, with many movie and TV productions being put on pause as actors are no longer able to appear in productions or promote their work. As writers and actors are not working, Hollywood has mostly paused, and will continue to do so until the strike is over.
SAG chief negotiator Duncan Crabtree-Ireland believes it could continue till next year. “I wouldn’t rule out January or February,” Crabtree-Ireland. “Everyone should be working hard to make sure that doesn’t happen, but the only way that doesn’t happen is by finding a path to a fair deal. And we’re not going to compromise on the core principles of fairness that our employees fight for.
