An Adelaide childcare group has collapsed months after parents were first made aware of issues within the company. Precious Cargo childcare centres entered administration in June, and on Tuesday was placed into liquidation, reportedly owing almost $20 million to creditors.
Adelaide childcare group collapses. Adelaide-based business advisory firm Heard Phillips Lieberenz was appointed administrator. The early education provider was founded in 2006 by Cheryl Shigrov, who told 7NEWS back in June she was “devastated that it has come to this” and that she would be working with administrators to “try to preserve Precious Cargo and bring it back to a thriving entity”. Precious Cargo grew to seven centres throughout Adelaide and employed more than 300 staff.
