Jack Harkins was attempting to change lanes on Main North Road at 6.30am when his Range Rover made contact with a truck, which caused his car to become airborne and flip.
Despite suffering a bad head wound, Mr Harkins crawled out to escape before the car burst into flames.An Adelaide man is lucky to be alive after a horrific crash on one of Adelaide's busiest roads. "I just braced pretty well and when it came to an end I could just see the windscreen was gone and the bonnet's gone," Mr Harkins said.Horrified witnesses rushed to help.Jack Harkins' four-wheel-drive was clipped by a truck on Main North Road, which caused his car to become airbourne, roll-over and burst into flames.
Mr Harkins says if it wasn't for the windscreen smashing, he doesn't know how he would've escaped the car.The 34-year-old from Pooraka was taken to the Lyell McEwin Hospital, where his head wound was stapled."Stressed out, big time ... I don't even want to think about that," she said.His pet dog Bird flung from the vehicle as it rolled and ran across the busy, city-bound lanes, as horrified witnesses rushed over to help.
