The homes are badly needed
An application to build 14 homes on a Sutton football club site has been made to address a "chronic demand" for affordable housing. Permission is being sought to build the houses on land which sits within the sporting grounds of Mansfield Athletic Football Club.
It is this poor state pitch that would be the site of the proposed 14 homes and developers say that they would improve the club's other facilities if the application is approved. In its application to Ashfield District Council, the developers say: "There is clear need for wider improvements across the remaining playing fields, which will be made possible from the proposed development.
