Maggie Hamill is one of 23 women accepted into an affordable housing project on the NSW Mid North Coast.The $12 million project developed by the Royal Freemason Benevolent Institution was built on the site of a former aged care home. Construction on the 23 units began in 2022, two years after the RFBI decided to repurpose the site of a former aged care home.RFBI CEO Frank Price said the project was designed to offer rental security close to the centre of town.
"There was one woman who had to leave the shire for a good couple of years … and she got incredibly isolated.
