Jesse Hogan’s goal on the siren has the Giants just ahead after a controversial end to a very contested, pressure-filled quarter.
Holding the ball was called and the Giants broke out finding Hogan on the lead and he kicked the goal just before the siren rang out.Changkuoth Jiath of the Hawks and Callum M. Brown of the Giants compete for the ball.Sam Frost made an exceptional help play defensively sprinting across to assist a teammate who had been wrestled out of position by Giants skipper Toby Greene.
I wonder if the AFL deemed that the brown shorts and stripes of Hawthorn were too close to that tone compared to the gold and against orange. It has been a very contested start to the match as both teams are desperate for the win but GWS’s Xavier O’Halloran has just snapped a kick over his head and into the goals for the opening major.
