7.07pmAFL legend Ron Barassi, one of the most influential figures in Australian Rules history, has died.
Tributes are flowing for the VFL/AFL star, a key member of Melbourne’s outstanding team of the 1950s and 1960s which won six premierships in a decade-long span until 1964.AFL commission chairman Richard Goyder lauded Barassi as the most important figure in Australian football since the second World War.
