Port Adelaide icon Travis Boak and Fremantle legend Nat Fyfe have swapped jumpers to mark the end of the Power great’s AFL career. The Dockers claimed a crucial six-point victory over Port on Saturday night after trailing with just two minutes remaining. And while the immediate focus was on Fremantle’s win boosting their hopes of finishing in the top four, a more personal post-script played out in the middle of ground.
Pearce’s goal, in just his second game in 10 weeks because of shin hot spots, came after he pushed forward for a spectacular high mark in a pack of players. “That’s a set play for us, where one of our tall backs goes forward,” Longmuir said. “You try and get a mismatch and he had a mismatch — it’s still an incredible mark. “Really proud of him for that moment.
