New to Kayo?McKay was eventually cleared of a concussion, with the league partially accepting the Blues’ explanation that their doctors were too busy to tend to the gun forward at the time. The league also ticked off two umpiring goal umpiring calls from Friday night’s game including the ball hitting the goal umpiring flag and the ball hitting the left leg of the goal umpire.

“He had a great week, he got through all the training sessions and everything. He was ill and couldn’t play,” Voss said. The AFL this week said it’d implement a strengthened process” for dealing with head knocks from Round 20 onwards. It’d involve club football bosses receiving “real-time” notifications of when ARC medical spotters determine a player needs a concussion test.
