The AFL has ticked off on showing the blockbuster FIFA Women’s World Cup quarter-final between the Matildas and France on the MCG big screen before Carlton’s huge clash with Melbourne. 7NEWS
The Matildas’ match at Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium kicks off at 5pm AEST, with the bounce for the AFL game now pushed back from 7.25pm to 7.30pm.
And the SCG will also have the game on after the Sydney Swans finish their danger game with Gold Coast. “We’re expecting a crowd of more than 50,000 for the Western Derby and we know many of those passionate fans could have been worried about not being able to experience both,” he said.“As a result, we’re going to screen the Matildas live on the BHP Amphitheatre screen.
