McBurney says: “Maynard comes in late, but before he comes in, the ball is pinned by the tackler. The umpire will blow the whistle for a ball up at that stage. If we see two players from the same team pinning the ball and the tackler not pinning the ball the umpires can and will pay holding the ball. It’s based on the umpire being able to judge who is holding the ball in.”
