The AFL is set to secure world famous pop queen Katy Perry to be its headline act for the grand final. An AFL spokesperson has confirmed to 7NEWS.com.au that the deal is “very close”. It is understood the AFL has not quite locked in the 39-year-old diva, but are extremely hopeful. If the deal is secured, Perry will be arguably the biggest act to ever appear on the AFL ’s grand final stage.
It will not be the first time Perry has appeared at the MCG, of course. She performed at the Women’s T20 World Cup final in 2020. That performance was widely praised, as was her post-match celebrations with the Australian players after they won the tournament. Perry has just shared the artwork for her new album cover on Instagram, which shows her wearing a transparent ensemble with long flowing hair.
