The annual Civil War encampment at Graue Mill in Oak Brook took a hiatus in 2020 and 2021 because of the coronavirus pandemic. But this weekend, the event returned.

“It was fantastic to be back, and we were very busy, especially on Saturday,” said Cmdr. “It was so they could be taken care of and sent home,” he said. “Otherwise, the bodies would be buried out in the field, and they would try to come back for them later.”“Even some of the people who come out each year had new questions,” he said. “Each of us who participate in this bring a different entity of the Civil War to it.”
