The Satanic Temple is preparing to litigate against the Northern York County School District after its school board rejected a proposal to bring the 'After School Satan Club' to its elementary school.
The club had its liability insurance in order, volunteers assigned, and a curriculum ready, Greaves said.
“You shouldn’t be here. There’s no room for you here. If this freaking group does get voted in, let’s do something about it,” Paul Miller told the crowd. “When the government opens up a place where expressive activity takes place, there are rules that must be followed,” Kezhaya said. “It’s an important constitutional issue,” he said. “We can’t have schools saying, ‘This is unpopular, so we’re not going to allow it.”
“The Satanic Temple is a bonafide religion–They have been tried and ruled upon as a bonafide religion,” he said. “They are not joking. This is for real, this is something The Satanic Temple cares about, and this is something a local parent cares about.”“Unpopular speech makes people think. Unpopular ideas is exactly what we have the first amendment for,” Kezhaya said.
