A new teaser trailer for Ahsoka has revealed the release date for the next Star Wars series, featuring an exciting lightsaber duel with Sabine Wren to ramp up the action. It was confirmed at Star Wars Celebration in April that the show will debut in August, though a concrete date wasn't provided. The marketing for Ahsoka is now in full swing, as the series is the cover story for Empire Magazine and is releasing promotional footage.
Sabine's Lightsaber Duel Sets The Stage For Ahsoka Following teases of Sabine being in possession of Ezra Bridger's lightsaber, official footage of the Mandalorian using it in combat has arrived. She'll have no issues with the blade, as Ezra and Kanan Jarrus taught her to effectively fight with the Darksaber in Star Wars Rebels. But the circumstances of the forthcoming duel are eyebrow raising, and could potentially be what pushes Sabine into action.
In the trailer, Sabine is fighting Shin Hati, one of Ahsoka's mysterious villains being kept mostly under wraps. Based on Sabine's long hair and the familiar architecture, it can be surmised that Shin tracked Sabine down on Lothal, perhaps with the intent of locating Ezra. From there, it would seem natural that Wren contacts Ahsoka, who's already on her own quest to locate Grand Admiral Thrawn.
