Olly Murphy’s charge made rapid headway as a novice with some fine efforts in Graded company. The gelding was clearly over the top when well-beaten on his final outing at Cheltenham in April. The bay has been given time to recover so he can resume his upward curve for his thriving trainer.
Torn and Frayed can cut loose for Nigel Twiston-Davies in the veterans’ chase. The 10-year-old showed signs of a revival when fourth in a hot Cheltenham handicap in April. Dan Skelton’s gelding was a close third to In Excelsis Deo on his timber debut at Warwick. That was a terrific effort so the gelding can open his timber account at the second attempt.
