Air New Zealand has put a three week hold on new inbound international bookings at the request of the government to align with the nation's quarantine facility capacity. The airline has reduced their passenger capacity on some flights as NZ’s quarantine system choked under the surge in returned residents.

NZ Health Minister Chris Hipkins revealed the government was dissatisfied with the amount of coronavirus testing taking place with only 1,100 tests conducted on Monday.
