Air traffic controllers at Sydney Airport are being pushed to 'breaking point' due to gross understaffing and a spike in overtime.
Overtime has increased by almost 50 per cent in the last three years with control tower staff amounting up to 140 hours of additional work each year, according to figures obtained by the Sydney Morning Herald. Concerns have been raised by major airlines about the quality of work produced under such conditions with workers calling the model 'unsustainable' in the long-term.
