This new competition launched by AirBnb is encouraging budding designers, architects and wannbe hosts to build a rental home somewhere between the two 🤩
Airbnb is home to all kinds of rentals – from the weird to the wonderful.
And a new competition launched by the platform is encouraging budding designers, architects and wannbe hosts to build a rental home somewhere between the two.Airbnb will fork out £80,000 to selected individuals to create an absolutely wild home – the more imaginative the better. It might be a home in the shape of a duck, a property propped up on tennis balls, or a futuristic spaceship – the crazier the idea, the better.
The only rule is that it’s got to fit into that ‘OMG!’ category which launched last month – and has so far been clicked on more than 2.5 million times. Ten winners will be selected in total and each will receive a cash prize of $100,000 – to go towards building their dream property. And the best part is that once it’s up and running, hosts will probably make a considerable amount from renting out their home.
In fact, Airbnb says the average income for people on its platform is around £11,216 a year – but quirky rentals could bring in a lot more.
