Airports across the country say garages and lots are filling up amid a surge of Thanksgiving travelers and fewer people taking transit or getting dropped off by ridehailing cars.
Several major airports, including Reagan National and Dulles International airports, have created systems that let passengers reserve parking, which officials say is the best way to guarantee vehicle space.
The pandemic has changed how we travel. Airlines want to put covid behind them, so they’re quickly adding flights, ramping up for 2021 holiday travel. For passengers eager to see family — many for the first time in months — finding somewhere to park is one more hurdle to navigate before celebrating.
