Four people were hospitalized when a shuttle bus at Los Angeles International Airport collided with a plane owned byThe American Airlines plane was being pulled by a tug vehicle to the overnight parking area when the collision occurred around 10 p.m. local time, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
One airline employee was aboard the A321 aircraft when the bus hit it, an airport spokesman said. The collision occurred on a taxiway adjacent to a terminal, the spokesman said. Five people were medically evaluated at the scene, including drivers of both the tug and the shuttle bus and the employee on the plane, according to the LAFD.
The airline worker declined transport to an area hospital. The tug driver, also an American Airlines’ employee, was brought to a hospital in moderate condition. The bus driver and two people who were on the shuttle at the time of the collision were taken to the hospital in fair condition, the LAFD said.The shuttle bus that collided with an American Airlines airplane as the plane was being pulled along a taxiway.
