Coy Oswalt, 36, was killed in the stabbing on Saturday in the North Hill neighborhood.
AKRON, Ohio — A suspect is in custody after a 36-year-old man died Saturday in a stabbing in the North Hill neighborhood.
Aaron Roberts-Byrd, 30, was arrested outside of a building where the stabbing occurred, police say. Roberts-Byrd is being held in the Summit County Jail on charges murder and felonious assault. Officers were called to an apartment complex on the 20 block of East Tallmadge Avenue just after 1 p.m. Saturday, police say. They found the victim, identified by the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office as Coy Oswalt, near an interior stairwell with a stab wound to his neck. Oswalt was taken to Cleveland Clinic Akron General Medical Center but he was pronounced dead just after 1:30 p.m.
Police say a knife was found during a search of the area. The Medical Examiner’s Office says Oswalt was stabbed during an argument in the apartment building.
