Al Ettifaq apologise to Liverpool fans due to abbreviation on Jordan Henderson's shirts
Taking to social media, they wrote: "Sorry to all the Liverpool Football Club fans for putting E.F.C on Hendo’s back. At least it’s not blue," with a sweating emoji.Al Ettifaq will undoubtedly boast a number of new followers due to their new links with the Premier League side.Marco Silva suggests Mitrovic and Willian are staying at Fulham despite Saudi interest
The club named Reds' legend Steven Gerrard as their manager ahead of the new season, his first position since being sacked by Aston Villa last autumn. As well as Gerrard, they brought in Henderson for a fee of £12million, bringing an end to his decade-long stay at Anfield. Henderson has been made captain of the Al Ettifaq, clearly in the hope that his leadership can guide the Saudi side to the same sort of success that he enjoyed on Merseyside.
During his 10 years with Liverpool, Henderson won the Premier League, the FA Cup and the Champions League, as well as two League Cups, a Club World Cup, a UEFA Super Cup and a Community Shield.
